Prevashen Naidoo’s Career and Personal Growth
Prior to joining Kura, Prevashen had 11 years of experience in the BPO industry, working on various campaigns, including debt collections, sales, customer service, and finance brokerage. Driven by a passion for people and the thrill of delivering targets, Prevashen finds the industry’s dynamic nature exciting, as no two days are the same.
Prevashen learned about Kura South Africa through a friend. Attracted by our vision and culture of development and inclusivity, he joined as a call centre advisor.
When I first stepped into Kura, I was struck by the unique culture and environment that instantly made me feel like part of a family. As someone who was initially reserved and introverted, I was faced with the challenge of embracing Kura’s values to become more vocal and engaged. It was through my curiosity and deepening product knowledge that I found the courage to speak up and help others. Every day, I discovered new things about the business and about myself, which ultimately allowed me to grow into a Campaign Specialist. Kura’s culture of development and inclusivity played a significant role in this transformation.
Prevashen’s role at Kura has evolved significantly since he started as an advisor in the newly launched Debt Collections Campaign in 2020. After six months, he applied for and was promoted to Campaign Specialist in March 2021, moving to the Customer Services campaign. In this role, he gained a deep understanding of the diverse cultures within the business, which helped build trust and enhance his credentials. Five months later, Prevashen was promoted to Kura Coach, a role that taught him much about his management style and leadership. As a Grad Bay KC, he developed nearly every advisor, overseeing many different teams and consistently improving performance metrics. His journey came full circle when he returned to Debt Collections and was promoted to now Customer Experience Leader, a testament to the company’s investment in his growth.
One of Prevashen’s most remarkable achievements is his transformation of the underperforming team into the top-performing team within just one month, achieving an outstanding QA rate exceeding 90%. His exceptional performance in the campaign set a benchmark among all CELs with KSA, consistently delivering the best KPI results. His prowess has been recognised with two prestigious Kura Kudos awards.
Under his leadership in another campaign, his team consistently achieved an impressive 95% QA, demonstrating his ability to drive excellence and results consistently. Prevashen’s career at Kura is marked by his remarkable ascent, earning three well-deserved promotions in just three years. His journey underscores his unwavering dedication, exceptional contributions, and outstanding leadership in achieving organisational excellence.
My future career goals within Kura include stepping up to Client Delivery Leader in the short term and aspiring to eventually become the head of the site in the long term. I see myself contributing to Kura’s success by consistently delivering excellent results across different areas and driving revenue growth. Additionally, I aim to continue shaping the company’s leaders by upskilling KCs, a role I’ve been dedicated to for the past two years.
