12 Days of Kura Christmas
We caught up with Internal Communications Manager as she reflects on the past 12 days of #KuraChristmas.
Julie, you’re internal communications manager, how important is the 12 days of Kura Christmas to staff?
It’s incredibly important. Not gonna lie, this year has been quite challenging with most of our people working from home. We wanted to spread a little festive cheer with our 12 Days of Christmas campaign and encourage our employees to engage in some of our online activities. Many of our colleagues have not seen their teams in a long time and some of our newer staff haven’t had a chance to interact with their teams face to face. Our aim was to bring everyone together (in a sense) for a bit of fun and to help get us all into the Christmas Spirit.
Tell us some of the things you’ve been getting up to?
Lots and lots of activity. We’ve had daily £100 voucher wins, free entry to raffle and tombolas. We’ve run social media & festive Christmas Card Competitions, asked people to take part in our festive message to our clients and suppliers and much more.
What was your highlight?
My highlight was definitely the Letter from Santa! We sent out 400 letters to our Kura families. We also supported local children’s charities in bringing a smile to those children less fortunate than our own, with a letter from the “Big Guy” himself.
What does Christmas mas mean to you?
Christmas to me is about family. Our lives are so incredibly busy; it’s the one time of year that I get to switch off from the hustle and bustle and be with my nearest and dearest. And although this year wont be the same as other years I will still get to see everyone by the power of Zoom
Finally, what are you looking forward to in 2021?
2021 is Kura’s year for Comms and Engagement. We’ve launched our new intranet this year across all our locations providing us with a platform to communicate, engage and encourage ideas and social networking – that was just the beginning! Communication in Kura is a two-way street – This isn’t just about our Leaders telling us what we need to do, it’s about our colleagues having a voice and being heard and feeling part of something special.
